Behavior and Temperament: Vendula is described by keepers as an Asian earth tiger style tarantula that can be defensive and fast, many Ornithoctoninae retreat quickly into burrows or hide and are considered more suited to observation than handling.
Habitat and Environment Needs: As with other earth tigers Ornithoctoninae, Vendula does best with a deep substrate to allow burrowing or heavy retreat construction, stable warm temperatures and consistently moist deeper substrate layers while maintaining good ventilation.
Feeding: Typical carnivorous terrestrial diet appropriately sized live insects crickets, roaches, dubia, etc. Feed juveniles sling sizes according to appetite and adjust for growth. Observe defensive behaviour when offering prey.
