Behavior and Temperament: This species can be quite defensive and fast-moving. It is a fossorial Asian tarantula typical of the subfamily Ornithoctoninae, and will often retreat into its burrow or react quickly when disturbed.
Habitat and Environment Needs: Originating from Thailand, it requires a deep, moist substrate to allow burrow formation, combined with good ventilation and humid warm conditions.
Feeding: The diet consists of appropriately-sized insects (crickets, roaches, etc.) like most tarantulas. Regular feedings while being cautious of its defensive nature.
Additional Information: Because this species is new in the hobby as of around 2023 and appears to be more defensive than some others, it’s recommended for experienced keepers. The vivid blue or violet coloration is most noticeable post molt and especially in good light.
